Create Site for Web Application in Sharepoint 2010
In my previous article we discuss about how to create Web Application in Sharepoint 2010. Today we discuss about how to create the site under that web application.
Open Web Application using URL http://sp2010:34378/ (Which was created in my previous article) and Go to Site Actions (top left corner of the Web Application), select New Site Option to create the Site as shown below.
Enter the Title, Description and URL name as shown below. Select the template Team Site under Collaboration in Template Selection Section.
In the Permission section by default system will select the Use same permissions as parent site option. In the Navigation section; by default System will select No option to display this site under Quick Launch of the parent site and Yes to display this site on the top link bar of the parent site. For Navigation Inheritance Section; by default system will select No option to use the top link bar from the parent site.
After providing the all required fields Click on Create button and the site will display as shown below.
